https://sourceconsultinggroup.com/team-building-services/We all know what it feels to be “out of the loop” when friends or family members are telling stories, making jokes or referring to past adventures. We like to hear the details and we like to share our own stories, because then we feel we are a part of those things and that we matter, too. The same things can be said when we’re at the office; we need to know that loop includes us, so that we can be a part of the team effort and the overall success of a business.

Office team building requires strong and professional communication skills between all members of the team. As with most teams, that level of communication starts with the leader… it starts with you. If you’re not communicating with your team about your business, you’re throwing them out of that loop where too much subjective understanding happens. Anyone who has stumbled over the “hidden” meaning of a sentence spends way too much time worrying, reducing productivity and adding to the snowball of work anxiety. Vague statements about projects or quick e-mails about progress toward goals are great reminders, but, a team needs authentic communication in order to succeed. Office team building activities help establish that authentic communication,  especially experiential learning team building activities that give each member a voice, a place in the loop and the motivation to succeed each day.

Instead of sending out another e-mail, consider using your own voice, your style of communication to address an issue (you can always follow up with an e-mail later) establish your leadership communication through authenticity. Communication and office team building go hand in hand, not through words on a screen. By allowing experiential learning and office team building to inspire more productive communication within your ranks, you’re allowing a whole new world of understanding throughout your business. That’s a loop that engages, motivates and gets the job done.
